This descendant of razor clams has a razor-sharp inhalant siphon, which it uses to spear animals up to five times its own size. This inhalant siphon is compressed inside the clam's shell, and it uses sixteen simple eyes to target its prey. The keratin-tipped siphon is used to paralyze and digest its prey. Unlike modern clams, the regular digestive system is lost in this species, as the walls of the pumping system serve as an intestine. The gills are reduced, and are not used as a filter anymore. They have lost their cerebropleural ganglia, as they disappeared along with the digestive system. The visceral ganglia are fused and enlarged, so they can target their prey much more accurately. They still miss about 75% of the time, though, as their eyes aren't very advanced and neither is their harpoon.
