Description

Living 500 million years in the future, the stitchsnake is actually descended from brittlestars. It is named for the appearance of its mouth, which looks like it is stitched up due to the tube feet surrounding it. They are next to being sapient, and can make simple tools using their tube feet. The head is mostly covered in 2 large compound eyes, which are descended from clusters of light-sensitive tube feet. Six other complex, forward facing eyes can make out more detail than the compound ones, and having 3 sets allows them to judge distances more accurately than if there were just 2. Their 2 eardrums are located in pockets under their complex eyes. They also use this pocket to make noise, speaking in a very basic language with about 50 words. Noise is made by vibrating a membrane, making humming noises, or by pushing air through a set of openings in the pocket, sounding a bit like a flute. The 2 nostril openings on the front of the head are used only for smelling. As a transport for oxygen, they use the greenish respiratory pigment chlorocruorin, and have small hearts throughout their body to pump their blood. Their body is about 1m in length.

Looks weird, but definitely possible for an Earth animal to evolve, so nice speculation
